Guided Colorado Big Game Hunting
Battlement Mesa Outfitters offers two
FULLY GUIDED camps, which are in the Grand Mesa National Forest.
We are located in Western Colorado, (GMU’S) 421 and 42. The area
has diverse terrain consisting of: gambles oak, aspen, sub
alpine meadows, and high mountain lakes. This area has
everything the Elk and Deer are looking for. This hunting area
will range in elevation from 7,500 feet to above 10,000 feet.
We understand that for you to have a
successful and enjoyable hunting experience, we must provide to
you comfort and quality game. Our camps are located right in the
heart of a large resident Elk and Deer herd. The numbers of elk
in our area, the Grand Mesa herd, is around 10,000 animals. We
have a tremendous
Mule Deer population, and great quality. The guide to hunter
ratio will be 1x2 or 1x1 if requested.

Drop-Camp Colorado Big Game Hunting
Our drop camps are located in the
same game-rich area as our guided hunts. To insure you have a
quality hunt, we will provide the following:
-
One 12x14 or 14x16 cook tent with propane stove, work bench,
table with chairs or benches, wood stove for heat, and propane
lanterns.

All dishes, pots, pans, cups, water buckets, axes, shovel and
toilet are in camp. There is wood cut, and fuel oil for
starting fires & cooking.

The sleeping tent is a 14x16 with cots and mattresses.

Hot Showers to insure Ultimate comfort after a hard day’s
hunt.
All the hunter furnishes is a
sleeping bag,
rifle, archery, or muzzleloader, clothing, food and
licenses. We get you in and out of camp with all game
packed from where you take it. In archery and muzzleloader
season, we check you every day. Rifle season we check you every
2 days.

Colorado Big Game Hunting Guide
School
There is
truly a need for professional, well-trained hunting guides.
Our training program is designed to equip a hard-working hunter
with the skills necessary to launch a professional guide career.
We will cover how to be a good hand with horses and mules,
packing, setting camps, learning our area, and the game in it.
This would be a great asset to you and to us. All other training
will take place in the field, such as caping, judging animals,
care of game, taking care of clients, and safety comes first.
It is not possible to learn all of this in a 20-30 day course,
no matter who trains you. There is always something new to learn
every day. Our training lasts 26 days for a fee of $3,500.00. If
you are good at this you will earn back most or all of what you
paid in. We are not here to blow smoke at you, we are looking
for hard working people, who enjoy the outdoors and working with
animals. Everything we do is hands on except the First-Aid
course which is mandatory. All food and lodging is furnished.

Colorado Fly Fishing, Pack Trips and Horseback Riding
Battlement Mesa Outfitters is a full-time,
year-round outfitting business. We offer complete services for
Family Summer Vacations, Fly Fishing trips and Horseback riding.
We are located in the heart of Western Colorado ’s high country.
Battlement Mesa Outfitters is surrounded by 2 majestic Mesa ’s.
The first is Battlement Mesa to the north, to the south is Grand
Mesa, the longest mesa in the world. Grand Mesa has over 200
lakes for your outdoor recreation enjoyment.
We can also pack you in for a few days up on the Battlement
Mesa. This is a very comfortable tent camp set at 10,000 feet.
There is plenty of high mountain lake fishing, and big-game to
view and photograph.
