Ontario Whitetail Deer Hunting
Current logging practices combined with mild winter
conditions for numerous years have been very favorable to our
Whitetail population. Everyone has heard of Northwestern Ontario’s
MONSTER BUCKS, big bodied deer with high scoring potential. Our
guided trophy Whitetail Hunts, provided principally on private lands
exclusive to Rugby Lake Lodge, include tree stands in forage areas or
along active rub or scrape lines. Many of our stands
consistently produce 10 Point Bucks or better, year after year. |

Ontario Black Bear Hunting
Our Black Bear hunts are designed to give every hunter an
excellent opportunity to tag a trophy.
We operate within our 144 square mile exclusive Black Bear
Management Unit. This unit surrounds Rugby Lake and is comprised of
excellent Black Bear habitat. The Ontario bear population is
estimated to be approx 150,000 and growing.
Our fall hunt begins August 15 and is really the opportune time to
hunt Black Bears. The bears are in their prime with extra body
weight, excellent pelts, and have fed on all the seasons varied
berry crops. Bears naturally try to consume all they can to prepare
for the "big sleep" Therefore our bait stations and portable stands
are set up very close to, and along trails leading to natural food
sources. What outdoorsman could ask for more, hunt your stand
morning/evening and fish the afternoon. |

Rugby Lake Lodge
We pride ourselves on a very clean, comfortable,
modern accommodations, which include everything you need to relax
and enjoy your hunting and fishing trip. Each cottage includes
showers, electric or wood heat, fully equipped kitchen, laundry
facilities, bedding and even a barbeque.
Rugby Lake Fishing
Our guest enjoy excellent fishing adventures for
Walleye, Northern Pike and Smallmouth Bass. Rugby Lake is 6
miles long with a maximum depth of 30'. You are sure to find
fish in any of the many sheltered bays or countless weed beds. In
the spring, the northernmost tip of Rugby Lake is a designated fish
sanctuary to protect the spawning Walleye. At any time you are
only a short boat ride from camp, for those wishing to have lunch in
the comfort of their cabin, relax for a couple hours, or pop into
the City of Dryden, for shopping or sightseeing.
We provide 16' Naden or Crestliner boats with Evinrude motors for
rental.
Ice fishing Walleyes on Rugby gives the evening rush
hour a whole new meaning. We are open year round, with fully
winterized cabins, and would love to have you stay with us. |
