South Carolina Whitetail Deer
Trophy Management
Strict game management is practiced to provide the big game
you're looking for. Ladder & box stands, tripods and ground blinds
are over food plots, baited areas or high-traffic transition areas.
Habitat consists of hardwoods, pines, cutovers, and swamp bottoms.
In the spring of 2007, we acquired 3 more tracts, 2 located in the
big swamp. |

2007 SC Deer Harvest Report
2007 Harvest Report - The 2007 deer harvest was strong at
Cherokee Run. Harvesting more does than for 8 years has
produced a buck-doe ratio that is good as you will find. One hunter
saw 11 bucks in one day and not 1 doe! The boar population has
probably doubled last year. 25-30 hogs have been seen at one time.
Providing a food source year 'round through food plots and corn has
contributed to the increased density of all animals. We look forward
to an even sweeter harvest in 2008. |
