Ranches we lease to a limited number of hunters per season.
These ranches are located in hunting units 15, 42, 52, 53, 63, 65,
and 741.
Offering:
Colorado Elk hunting and Mule Deer hunting. Private land elk
hunts. Ranches for lease for elk hunting to groups for trespass
fees. This is a non-guided, do-it-yourself type hunt. We

fences, things that only an experienced photographer can spot. The camp is
located 20 miles southwest of Montrose Colorado on highway 90. Montrose is
approximately 250 miles from Denver and is located in the southwestern
part of the state. Camp is easily accessible by pickup truck. Hunters
should plan to arrive in camp around noon on the Friday before the hunting
season specified. Earlier accommodations are available for a modest
amount. There are commercial flights into Montrose and Grand Junction and
transportation is available to Camp.

Our Colorado base Camp is located 10,000 feet above sea level in the
grandeur of the Rocky Mountains just 45 miles northeast of Gunnison,

Location:
We hunt on the Uncompahgre Plateau, National Forest, and BLM in unit
61 and unit 62. We hunt on approximately 50,000 acres in each unit. The
terrain varies, dark timber, aspen groves, scrub oaks, cedars, pinions,
and meadows. The elevation at the lodges is 9600 feet and we hunt down
from there.
Offering:
Specializing in Trophy Elk and Mule Deer Hunting. Our area
has some of the best archery and Muzzle loading habitat in the state. Dark
timber, oaks, water holes, and secluded areas with little pressure,
attract big bulls. The Bulls can be very vocal at this time. We have spike
camps set up in some of the best areas, so we don’t have a long walk in,
in the morning or a long walk out at night.
Accommodations:
The Lodge is warmed by a wood stove and a large raised hearth
fireplace. We have a newly updated kitchen and updated bathrooms with
private hot showers. We have a large bunk room and private rooms are
available. The Lodge supplies all linens and meals are included. Our meals

five day hunt per person. You may arrive the day before and leave the

Tops in the Rocky Mountains of Northwest Colorado in the
southern portion Game Management Unit 12 and northern portion of

and home to the largest elk herd in the world at 38,000+
animals. The cabin consists of over 70 acres surrounded on three
sides by the Routt National Forest on prime National Forest
Land. The cabin is secluded and located one hour from Steamboat
Springs, Craig, Meeker and Yampa. Hunters fly into the Steamboat
Springs, CO Airport (Yampa Valley Regional Airport). We provide
accommodations in or near hunting in Game Management Units: 3,

Wildlife in the area include elk, mule deer, black bear,
mountain lion, antelope, and an occasional moose. The elk herd
in our GMU is estimated at 38,000+ animals. While the area is
best known for elk, it produces quality mule deer bucks as well.
In fact Garth Carter in Hunting Fool recommended GMU 12 as a
good second choice for big mule deer bucks since it is easy to
get as a second choice and doesn't use any of your preference
points.
Wild Skies Hunting Lodge is perfect for the hunter that wants a
comfortable retreat suitable for entertaining guests or
non-hunting family members. First-class trout fishing,
back-country horseback riding, hiking, snowmobiling, and much
more are readily available to our guests in the White River and
Routt National Forests.
Accommodations: Our beautiful
cabin is 2000 sf and can comfortable sleep 12 guests and has
radiant in-floor heat with individual temperature controls in
each sleeping area in addition to the wood burning stone and
stone fireplace. The cabin has a full kitchen with a breakfast
bar, two living room or sitting room areas, a large dining room
area, two bedrooms on the first floor (one has a queen bed and
