The record books for Rocky Mountain elk are largely filled with Arizona bulls. The bugle of a bull elk is something every sportsman must hear in person to appreciate. Hunts are conducted by spot and stalk for late season hunts in October through December and calling bulls is the preferred method during September through early October rut hunts for archers. Most of our hunts are conducted in November for bulls and in October or December for the cows. This is also when your chance of getting drawn is highest. Contrary to popular belief, you can be drawn your first year for elk in the state of Arizona. In fact, our Outfitter drew a tag in four out of the last five years. Remember, at Diamond Outfitters we handle the entire application process for you!
Arizona is unique in that we have both the Desert Mule Deer and the Rocky Mountain Mule Deer to hunt. Both of these grow species grow beautiful antlers with multi-branches. Typically spot and stalk hunting is the most effective, so be ready to travel, have good optics, and make sure your rifle is sighted in for a 300+ shot. The terrain is rugged, but breathtakingly beautiful.
Rifle Mule Deer hunts take place in October and November, and hunters enter the draw in early June. Archery Mule Deer Hunts can get a license over the counter in December for Mule Deer or Coues Deer, and in January you can get a Javelina, too!
Arizona is one of the few place to hunt Coues Deer. The seasons for Arizona Couse Deer are August through September and again December through January. You can enjoy a combo hunt for Javelina and Coues deer in January.
