Welcome to Fishtail Ranch, in the beautiful Chama Valley of Northern New
Mexico. We specialize in Fair Chase Hunts for Free Ranging Elk in
Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado.
Our private properties in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains offer
some of the best Elk Hunting in North America. Outfitted hunts also
available in the San Juan and Rio Grande National Forest of Southern
Colorado. These wilderness hunts offer both Elk and Mule Deer
opportunities well off the beaten path; guided or drop camps available.

Northern New Mexico Elk Hunting
Fishtail Ranch hunts take place on private ranch land in Unit 4
Northern New Mexico, this means guaranteed licenses (NO DRAW
REQUIRED) in a quality unit with one of the highest success rates in
the state. Private land allows us to control both the number of
hunters and the number of elk harvested, helping to maintain a
quality elk herd.
Hunters Lodging will be at our Fishtail Ranch Headquarters on the
bank of the Rio Brazos. Our guests enjoy home cooked meals, spacious
bedrooms with private baths, a great room and large deck to gather
with family and friends.

Colorado Wilderness Big Game Hunting
Southern Colorado Elk and Mule Deer Hunts are available for 2007
season. Fishtail Ranch is offering fully guided or drop camp hunts
in the Rio Grande and San Juan National Forests. These Wilderness
Hunts are in units 80, 81 & 82 where outfitted hunts enjoy a 40% to
60% success rate.
We have been scouting this area for several years and will be
packing you and your gear into the Forest by horseback 2 to 6 hours
beyond the nearest vehicle access point. Our
camps are by special
forest service permit and fully equipped for Archery, Muzzleloader
and Rifle Seasons. Both draw and over the counter seasons are
available. |
