We offer Archery, Rifle and Muzzleloader Elk hunting. Most of our elk hunts take place on public land either through the public draw system or a landowner permit to hunt on public land in the Gila/Apache National Forest of southwestern New Mexico. This area has produced the top scoring bulls ever taken in the state. In these units, a 350+ bull is a reality.
The units we hunt are limited draw units only. Our mule deer hunts take place in the Carson National Forest and BLM and State lands in Rio Arriba County, New Mexico. It’s not uncommon to see 8-10 mature bucks a day. Our success rate is very high, harvesting 165” to 185” class mulies. The potential for a B & C buck is a definite reality in the units we hunt. We take a very limited number of mule deer hunters per year!

Providing each hunter the highest quality Mountain Lion hunt possible is our highest goal. In order to do that, we must limit the number of bookings, per season. All lion hunts are 1 x 1 guide service, personally guided by professional guide and outfitter, Andy Salgado, who trains and hunts his own pack of hounds. The Cougar hunts start in November and run through February. The right weather conditions can greatly assist in the success of a hunt, so booking on-call is the best way to go if possible. If on-call is not an option, it is best to book in December or January, where we usually have some snow on the ground.
Hunting Methods: Cutting tracks on 4X4 trucks, 4-wheelers, snowmobiles & on foot.
New Mexico bear numbers are at an all time high and there's no better time to hunt for color phase black bear with hounds than the present. 7 out of 10 bears I catch on average are color phase bears. Average weight is 200 - 300 pounds. I hunt bear with my same pack of hounds I use on my lion hunts and I also guide all the bear hunts myself. On occasion I will hire only the best houndsmen possible in the area to assist on these hunts if need be. These hunts take place from mid-August to mid-November.

Our pronghorn antelope hunts take place on private and state lands throughout New Mexico from August through October. We offer both draw hunts and hunts with a landowner permit to hunt private and state lands. Landowner permits are an additional cost and they’re also your option. Since 1992 we have had 100% harvest on our antelope hunts. We’re very proud of this record and hope to continue our success. No trophy room is complete without one of these beautiful colorful speed goats on the wall.
