Higher Ground
Outfitters, Inc. would like to thank you for your interest in our
hunts. We have tried very hard to accommodate every kind of hunter and
his/her desires. With many years of experience in this hunting industry we
have learned that not all hunters have the same desire in the way they
want to hunt. Some like the "do it yourself" drop camps, some like the
semi-guided, while others prefer the fully outfitted service. This is why
we have put such great efforts, with the spirit of excellence, to offer a

Higher Ground Outfitters now has many new hunting areas:The Northwest corner of Colorado lies in the middle of the largest elk migration path in the United States. We have hunted this area for 15 years with extremely great success. You can read about this area in the Aug/Sept 2004 issue of Outdoor Life magazine, article by Jim Zumbo. Jim Zumbo has hunted with us on three different hunts and successful on all. This is a 5-day hunt, which includes all meals, guide, and accommodations. Some of the accommodations will be cabins, some will be canvas cabins (heated tents with wood floors and full shower facilities, a first class set-up), and a bed and breakfast, depending on what part of this area you choose to hunt. We hunt on private and public land in this area. With our experience in this area we believe this gives you a greater opportunity for success with both elk and mule deer. The Southwest corner of Colorado has some of the most majestic views Colorado has to offer. This area has a great opportunity for you to harvest a trophy bull or Monarch mule deer. This is a 5-day hunt, which includes accommodations, all meals, and guide. This is truly an archery hunter paradise!!
