| Wyoming Outfitter, Monty Horst,
"Born and raised in Wyoming, I started guiding hunters in 1973 for an
outfitter in Dubois, Wyoming. In the last 26 years of guiding for
other outfitters I have learned by experience what clients need and
want in a wilderness camp. In 1998 I bought an outfitting business in
the Washakie Wilderness of the Shoshone National Forest southeast of
Yellowstone National Park. My camp is located off the Ishawooa Trail
in Lappalli Creek which is the migration route for the mule deer
coming out of Yellowstone Park! I also do summer progressive trips
into the Bridger Teton National Forest and the Bridger Teton
Wilderness areas. We have great fishing trips into the Thorofare River
and headwaters of the Yellowstone! Trophy Class Hunts and World Class
Fishing. Quality hunts in a first class camp is my number one
priority!"

Wyoming Elk Hunting: Ishawooa outfitters offer
elk hunting in some of the most beautiful and rugged country in the
Washakie Wilderness! We hunt mostly in area 57 for elk beginning in
September for archery only and October for rifle with a late season in
November and December. We also hunt areas 55, 56, 58, 59 and 121 for
the late migration hunts. Most of the elk hunting is done by horseback
in which we ride and glass for elk, however there is also time when we
need to get close to the elk and we walk. Therefore, it is important
that you be in as good of shape as possible. For those of you who wish
to hunt for meat instead of horns, late cow permits are usually easier
to draw and are normally hunted out of town.
Hunting Mule Deer out of our camp is very hard to
be equaled by anyone as we hunt the migration deer out of Yellowstone
and we have thousands of deer that will migrate right through our
camp! We use horses to get to where we wish to hunt and then we glass
until we find the buck you have been waiting for. We hunt region F for
deer and obtaining a region F license has been virtually 100 %.
Antelope Hunting at its best in areas 42 and 47, which
is done on BLM and Private ground, with almost 40,000 acres of private
land to hunt. We do our hunts with 4 x 4 trucks to locate the
antelope, then make your stalk by walking or hunt the many water
holes. Archery, muzzle loader, pistol or rifle hunts are possible.
Chances of drawing a tag is usually 100% in Area 42.
Hunts are limited - so call early!

Join us for the trip of your life on a pack trip that you can
customize to fit your needs. Travel by horseback to the most remote
and beautiful scenery this country has to offer. Enjoy World Class
Fishing , Horseback riding, and great Photographic opportunities.
Trout Fly Fishing and Spincast fishing is unbelievable as 18" to 22"
cutthroat trout are commonly caught. It's not uncommon for a fisherman
to catch and release up to 40 to 50 fish a day! We do progressive
trips in which we will move to a new spot each day or every other day
so that you may fish a new section of the river, stream, or lake when
we move. Experience fishing in the famous Yellowstone Meadows,
home of the Yellowstone Cutthroat. |

Ishawooa Outfitters Testimonials:
"In a year of unfavorable weather conditions,
where a lot of camps were having trouble filling tags, everyone in our
camp came out with nice deer. Ishawooa Outfitters is a
professional camp with outstanding qualities from staff, food and
horses, making my successful hunt a very memorial experience."
Dave S.
"This is a wonderful deer hunt. The G & F
person I talked to told me he thought it was the best deer camp in
Wyoming. The scenery on the ride in is outstanding - a total adventure
without being physically taxing." Vern B.
"My hunt last year with Ishawooa Outfitters
was my 4th Wyoming deer hunt, and clearly the best. The camp was
comfortable, the food was delicious, and the wilderness was beautiful.
Monte and his staff were hard working, competent, personable and fun
to be with. They take you where the deer are, and we shot some nice
ones." Tom
"Great camp, food, and hunting. Well
organized and plenty of game. No other hunters seen during my hunt.
Saw over 300 deer - 10% bucks. Killed 25" buck. Highly recommend this
hunt." John K.
