Come hunt the famed KATEMCY RANCH in McCulloch County, Texas. 6,000 acres low fenced, heavily managed hunting and recreation ranch near Brady, Texas.  Rolling live oak hills, pecan bottoms, cedar canyons, mesquite flats, grain fields, all loaded with game. Topped off with prickly pear, yucca and the San Saba river and 2 creeks.

Game includes Trophy Texas Whitetail Deer ( like in the photos) 1 deer per every 7 acres with a buck doe ratio of 1 to 2.

We also offer Trail Rides where you or a group bring your own horses.  Meals and entertainment provided. We welcome Bird Watchers (loads of birds in winter). Trophy Whitetail Deer at Katemcy Ranch, Texas

All whitetail deer photos are taken on the ranch.  We have about 1 deer for every 8 acres.  We try to harvest only mature bucks.  All hunts are either fully or semi-guided.  They consist of 3 days of hunting and 4 nights of lodging, with meals, guides and lodging all inclusive.  We have a walk-in cooler for storage of your game.  We hunt mostly from blinds over feeders, but at certain times of the fall a trophy buck could be available by spot and stalk or rattling.  Most bucks range from 120-140 B&C.  We have been managing the ranch very carefully for 12 years and have a buck/doe ratio of better than 1:1 1/2 doe.  On our aerial surveys, we have counted over 750 deer on our 6000 acres low fence ranch.  The field crops, corn feeders and protein feeders have really been paying off.  Our management hunts start at $2500 for 3 days of hunting and harvesting an 8pt buck scoring up to 140 B&C gross, 1 doe and 1 hog.  Extra hogs can be taken for $100 each.  Our 10pt and up bucks start at $4500 and are priced upon request.  Groups of 5 or more receive a group discount and a fall turkey may be added for only $500 with a fall package hunt.

Rio Grande Turkey Hunting at Katemcy Ranch

Spring Turkey hunting is superb and there is no area on the ranch that is not good turkey hunting. These turkey are year round residents of the ranch. With the San Saba river and 2 creeks with water, why not. Also ,we keep turkey feeders going to help with the survival of the hatch. Calling is a blast, as there are lots of mature gobblers to lure in.  These spring gobbler hunts cost $1250 for 1 tom and include, 1/1 guide or we show you where to hunt and you call yourself. 4 nights, 3 days, all meals, snacks, soft drinks, field transportation, field care of birds and cooler service.  A second gobbler may be taken for $250. Group discounts for groups of 5 more.

Wild Hog Hunting at Katemcy Ranch

Being very intelligent and with a nose like a whitetail, wild hogs can humble even the best of hunters. Ranging in size from an 80 pound meat hog to a trophy size of 250 and up, you will find that on our 6,000 ranch that are more hogs than we can ever harvest!

Hogs may be hunted year round and cost is $150/day for 1 hog.  2nd hog may be taken for $100.  Lodging and meals are extra but we will show you where to hunt and guides are available for $100/day.

Dove & Bobwhite Quail Hunting - Texas Style!

Most of the dove are Mourning Dove but sometimes a few White Wings show up. Hunting is usually done over fields. As with most dove hunting they move around a lot.  Bobwhite Quail are in great number and with the wet years are doing great.  We don’t have dogs so if you want to hunt with a dog you must bring your own or with enough notice we can get a bird dog man and dogs for you.

Dove hunting is $100/day with group rates of 5 or more.
Quail hunting is $350/day with group rates of 5 or more.
Dogs are extra.
