Macedonia Game Preserve is located in Franklin County in Southern Illinois and is a state licensed hunting preserve. We have 1,000 plus acres of farm crops which consist of wildlife habitat and food plots in many locations, including many woodlands.

We are managing the resources on our property and providing access to hunters so they can hunt the way they like to hunt. Services provided by this reserve will depend upon each individual, and the type of hunt they would like to have. CLICK HERE to receive package prices.

Whether the request is for walk-in hunts or a corporate or business hunt, our goal is to provide a good hunting environment.  We maintain a quality deer management program along with quail, pheasant, chukar and dove hunting.  We added a 30 x 40 building to our lodge to better accommodate our customers.

Southern Illinois Whitetail Deer Hunting

Whitetail Deer hunting in Southern Illinois is probably some of the best hunting a hunter can find, as far as quality and consistency in deer management. We have farm fields that have very good fence row cover as well as wooded bottom ground cover. We have very accessible locations to whatever kind of hunt you would enjoy. Hunting may be done in different locations in different ways according to the hunter's needs. You may bring your own deer stand, or we have permanent stands placed in strategic locations. Reservations for the upcoming hunting season need to be made immediately if not sooner!


Bow Hunting will be allowed from October  - December

We offer by guided and non-guided deer hunts.  The largest deer that has been taken is a 10-point buck; field dressed 250 lbs and scored 162 p/y.

We have a rich blend of natural and planted cover, spanning over 1,000 acres. Hunters like to hunt in different conditions. Therefore, we have made sure there is something at Macedonia for everyone. Birds are mature and good flyers. Many times people spend a great amount of time and money just trying to find somewhere to hunt and something to hunt. You are guaranteed to see birds in good numbers and quality. Our goal is to provide the hunter a safe and enjoyable hunt. What better way for a young hunter to enjoy his first hunt with a family member or a friend and getting to enjoy himself, shooting his first game. It is truly a blessing.

Southern Illinois Turkey Hunting

We provide very affordable turkey hunting packages - both released adult birds as well as wild turkey hunting.  Released turkey hunting:

  • The released turkeys are full grown birds

  • We can get jakes also if interested

  • The cost is $150.00 per bird.

  • These can be released at any time during our hunting season from October till April.

  • Residents and non resident hunters do not have to purchase permits for these birds.

Wild turkey hunting:

  • Applications and dates can be found by calling 217-782-1305

  • Cost for hunting these birds are $100.00 per day

  • This includes accommodations to stay, sandwiches etc. are available at club house.

We have a nice lodge that is available for package hunts and also for catered events.  The lodge sleeps 8 and has 2 bathrooms.
