Alberta Bear Hunting
The Alberta Spring Bear hunts are operated out of an outpost
camp North of the Slave Lake area. These outpost camps are well
equipped with amenities like hot and cold running water, showers,
refrigerators and freezers, electric lights, and modern cook ranges.
Our modular kitchen and dining trailers make for a very comfortable
and enjoyable stay. Meals are prepared by our chef and staff with a
wide variety of meals throughout your stay, guaranteed to satisfy
even the hungriest hunters!
Sleeping accommodations consist of 10' X 12' wall tents that are
equipped with a ground sheet, single bed mattresses with box
springs, electric lights, and propane heaters in case the weather
turns wet or cold.
Due to the fact that hunters are allowed to kill two bears in
Alberta, our success rate over the past several years has been
consistently over 180%. This means that a camp with ten hunters will
usually produce a harvest of more than 18 bears.
Alberta Bear Opportunities are at 200%, meaning everyone will get
an opportunity to harvest two bears each. It’s up to each individual
hunter take advantage of these opportunities and harvest his trophy,
and some hunters are extremely selective with their second animal.
It is not surprising to see 25 or 30 bears during a hunt, and many
repeat customers have learned to be patient, resulting in great
trophy bears.
We also offer Fall Black Bear hunts operated out of our Main Lodge.
These hunts are “spot and stalk” hunts and also offer an exciting
way to find your trophy Bear.
Every year several Alberta Bears are taken that are record class, the
measurements exceeding minimum for Safari Club International, Pope
and Young, and Boone & Crockett Record Books.
There are excellent chances of harvesting color phase bears,
probability near 35 or 40%.

Alberta Whitetail &
Mule Deer Hunts
If you are looking to hunt trophy Alberta Whitetails
or Mule Deer you have come to the right place! This area of Alberta
continues to fill the record books with big deer year after year.
Our Whitetail Deer Hunt takes place in the Slave Lake district of
North Central Alberta in a mixture of farm fields, heavy timber, old
log-offs, and oil exploration trails.
We start our Deer Hunts with our early season Archery hunts in mid
October.
The last Saturday in October we start our rifle hunts for Deer and
late season Moose and run to the end of the season which is
approximately December 1st. The weather at this time may run from
+40 °F to -O °F so a variation of clothing and hunting techniques
are required. This hunt is scheduled at this time to take advantage
of the rut which is at its peak this time of year.
Many of our hard core Whitetail hunters have come to hunt with us
year after year and with this persistence seems to come bigger and
better trophies as the willingness and patience of the hunter to
wait out the real big boys increases.
Our typical success rate for Alberta Whitetail Deer:
• Hunter Opportunity - 100%
• Success Kills - 95%
• Trophy Bucks - SCI / P & Y / B & C / - 35%

Alberta Moose Hunts
Our Fall Moose hunts begin in mid September and
continue through mid October to coincide with the Bull Moose being
in rut. Hunting takes place in the Athabasca River watershed and on
the Wabasca River. Most of this area we hunt has very limited access
so hunting pressure is light, and therefore this country produces
some fine heads every year.
There are two options when hunting Moose. The wilderness river float
is a trip on the Wabasca River that will cover approximately 150
miles of true untouched wilderness. Most of the hunting is done from
large 27 foot canoes that are very stable and comfortable to ride
in. These canoes are motorized and very versatile, allowing access
to areas otherwise unaccessable. In some cases we will use jet boats
and hovercraft. You will also have the opportunity to fish for
Northern Pike and Walleye while hunting, and accommodations will be
in tents or possibly outpost camps.
This is an unforgettable adventure, one that will
leave you with memories lasting a lifetime. You will spend the first
and final nights of the trip at our Main Lodge, the NWO Ranch, near
Slave Lake.
The second option is the lodge hunt. Each night will be spent in our
Main Lodge, with typical meals and accommodations. Hunting is
primarily by calling and scouting, with plenty of opportunities for
trophy Alberta Moose. Areas hunted will be surrounding the Athabasca River.

What Our
Clients Say...
"Hi Bob,
This is Mike Cassidy. Me and my 2 buddies just got back from your
lodge. Absolutely great. It was the best hunt we've ever done and
all 3 of us came home with great bucks. The lodge is incredible. The
way we were treated was outstanding and not only were the meals
excellent but Pete is an amazing chef and great person. Everything
you told us about the hunt and the lodge was 100% accurate. All of
the guides were not only very knowledgeable about the area and where
the deer were but they were also great guys. The other hunters in
camp were repeat hunters and were helpful and very friendly. I
couldn't ask for a better group of guys to spend a week with. You
can count us in for a return trip in the future. As soon as we know
when we will let you know and book it."
"3 very satisfied hunters"

"Hunting with Northern Wilderness Outfitters
was the highlight of my year. My dreams of taking a moose finally
came true and to sweeten the spot I took a beautiful 8 point
whitetail buck whose live weight was 295 lbs with my bow. I
made new friends and gained ten pounds from the great food at their
beautiful lodge, it just doesn’t get much better than this.
"Thanks to a great crew for a great time!!!"
