Texas Whitetail Deer Hunting

PBGSO offers Trophy Whitetail packages in Texas and Mexico. Most of our whitetail packages are set up from 3-5 days, all inclusive: three ample meals per day, all of your transportation to include airport pickup and drop off, comfortable and clean lodging, 1x1 guide, all game care (skinning, caping, quartering, or delivery to a meat processor/ taxidermist). For the 2006-07 season we had over 95% success rate and a very high return rate. The majority of our whitetail scored between 120 B&C and 160 B&C. We NEVER stack our whitetail hunters into a ranch like cord wood, your group whether it consists of 1 to 10 people will always be the only group hunting that particular ranch. All of our ranches are highly managed, most are low fenced free ranging deer, but we do have access to preserves or high fenced ranches with Whitetail deer available into the 200 class B&C range.

Personal Reference:  This is the third year I’ve hunted along with my good friend, Joe, with Pope Brothers Guide Service and Outfitting. We found them online and after calling a reference or two and talking to Clay, we decided to book a four day Hill Country Whitetail Hunt. It was great!! We both took excellent whitetail bucks and does on that first trip. I took a large feral hog as a bonus. Year two had us hunting near Blanco and again we took bucks and the does we wanted. That year the hunting across Texas was tough due to a lack of rain throughout the summer. Clay put us on deer even when the conditions were as bad as they can get. This year we were back and again did great with good bucks and being overrun with deer. We decided to hunt axis deer does at a ranch near Blanco and I took a very good one. The next weekend I was back hunting with my son and 10 year old grandson who was hunting his first buck. Clay had scouted the area and put us in the right spot. He took a very nice 8 pt late that evening. He was so excited, but maybe not as much as his Dad and I. I have been so impressed with Pope Brother’s ability to put us on deer and his use of a network of ranches. He has places to hunt just about anything that’s available in Texas and at whatever trophy level you may desire. We’ve booked our whitetail hunt for next year already and I hope to bring back my sons and grandson later. Joe is considering hunting pronghorn antelope with Clay in October and I’m planning an axis buck hunt in mid summer. I recommend that you give Pope Brothers Guide Service and Outfitting a very serous consideration when planning a hunt in Texas. You won’t go wrong. Texas Mule Deer Hunting

All Mule Deer hunts will be conducted on some of the finest Texas ranches. These are free-ranging mule deer and only fair chase methods of harvest are allowed. Because we take only a limited number of hunters, we can select top trophy Bucks. Every one will have the chance to get a 160-200 inch Muley on these hunts. We have a 100% success rates on Mule Deer hunts! There is only an approximant two week season given to hunt Mule Deer in Texas, which usually falls the last week or so of November and thru the first week of December.

Exotic Game Hunting on Texas Ranches

If you haven't experienced Texas exotic hunting you do not know what you have been missing. Exotic hunting can be conducted year round with over 50 species to choose from. Pope Brothers Guide Service and Outfitting has a $150 per day guide fee which includes meals, lodging, airport pickup and returns, guide and game care, and delivery of game to taxidermy or processor. Only when you have harvested the animals you wish will you be charged a harvest fee per animal. With over 20 ranches available to hunt exotics, we maintain a 100% success rate on this type of hunting. Our prices are always competitive and negotiable with group rates available. If you have ever considered coming to Texas to participate in an exotic hunt look no further.

We guarantee you the opportunity to harvest a trophy class animal. Methods of hunting can be done in a blind, spot and stalk, or safari style. All exotic hunts will be fully guided.

Personal Reference: I just wanted to thank you again for helping me take my Scimitar Oryx and Axis Buck this past year. They were both exciting hunts. It was a great follow up to the previous years hunt when I took a beautiful Black Buck and a really nice Sika Buck. I will be coming back this year for the 3rd time to take a Chocolate Fallow Buck and an Aoudad. Obviously you do the right thing or I wouldn’t be coming back for the 3rd time. I’m sure there will be a 4th and 5th etc. trips back to the hill country in west Texas. Texas Spring Turkey Hunting

Due to the popularity of our Texas Hog, Javelina & Predator Hunting which books most available dates through May a year in advance we will only be offering a small number of Turkey hunts for 2008 season and beyond. We have some really excellent ranches that do not get utilized for Turkey hunting. PBGSO will only be offering 3 day + all inclusive packages starting at $1250.00 with a 100% success rate.

Texas Pronghorn Antelope Hunting

We have access to 40,000 acres of prime Antelope hunting in the Texas Panhandle & New Mexico. These pronghorns will score 70-85+ B&C which some will make the B&C book. We will have 10-15 permits for Texas (maybe more) and 5-6 permits for New Mexico in the 2008 season. Texas season is usually the first week of October each year and New Mexico dates are in August.

We can set this hunt up as a fully guided to semi guided package. Meals & lodging: we have a ranch houses you can stay at or we can set it up for camping, RV, motel, etc... Meals we can furnish or you can do it yourself depending on what you want. When you buy a permit from us you have access to the ranch the entire season. If you can or want to hunt the entire season that is fine with us or you can come for as many days as you wish during the season. 100% success rate for the 2007 seasons there are lots of antelope on these properties. As a note we can add Prairie dog hunting to the Texas Pronghorn hunts.

Texas Hog, Javelina & Predator Hunting

Hog hunting can be conducted year round day or night. We hunt 20+ ranches mainly in central and south Texas for wild hogs. We maintain a very high success rate because we limit the number of hunts we do and space them out, not hunting one particular ranch too often. Anyone who has hunted wild hog before knows that these animals become very smart when hunted and pressured too much. So we only do so many hunts per ranch per year to make sure when we have a serious hog hunter they have the greatest chances of getting what they are after. Hog hunting can be combined or added to most of our hunting packages.

Javelina hunting: PBGSO offers year round Javelina hunts on well over 100,000 private acres in South & West Texas. We have a 100% opportunity rate and over 95% success, you are allowed 2 Javelina per licensed year. Hunts can be set up semi to fully guided 2-5 days all inclusive. Javelina can be added to most hunting packages.

Predator hunting can be conducted year round in Texas. Add to that the fact night hunting is legal and you get a combination that can't be beaten. Predator-varmint hunting is our specialty and how we started in the business. We have hunted Predator-varmint in Texas ever since early childhood, so we have a deep passion for the sport. At the current time we have over 2,000,000 acres in all parts of Texas and adding to that on a regular basis to conduct these types of hunts. All of these hunts are all inclusive which means meals, lodging, all transportation, guide, and game care is provided. We require two hunters per guide, unless other arrangements are made. There will be no limits of numbers that can be harvested, except where prohibited by state law. All of the above hunts can be combined or customized to your specifications.
