Selected as "2002 Dodge Outfitter of the year", Wildlife Systems,
Inc. has been providing quality hunting services since 1987. |
|
Wildlife Systems, Inc. was created in 1987 by wildlife biologist Greg
Simons. This organization has developed into a capable, full service
company providing a blend of services rarely found in the hunting industry.
WSI’s basic concept is to provide private landowners with personalized
wildlife management assistance and to provide hunting clients with
professional outfitting service on their hunting trips. Staffed by two
full-time wildlife biologists, along with a full compliment of other staff
members, WSI has grown into a premier hunting company offering hunts for
whitetail deer, mule deer, pronghorn antelope, Rio Grande spring turkey,
dove, quail, feral hogs, free-range aoudad sheep, free-range nilgai
antelope, predators, javelina, and various other exotic game species. Our
land base is huge, comprising approximately 25 different private properties
totaling over 400,000 acres throughout several regions of Texas as well as
New Mexico. We hold exclusive outfitting rights on most of our properties.
We also offer a select number of seasonal hunting leases to groups who wish
to lease their own private property. WSI was selected as “Dodge Outfitter
of the Year” in 2002 from a cast of over 450 eligible outfitters located in
the United States, Canada and Mexico. For a quality hunting experience with
a hunting service who can offer a proven track record, contact us to receive

Texas Trophy Whitetail Deer Hunting
WSI is undoubtedly one of the most diverse outfitters for
whitetail deer. We conduct whitetail hunts on approximately eight different
private properties located in South, Central and West Texas. Most of our
Texas whitetail packages are set up as four-day, five-night programs where you’re
provided with meals, lodging, guide, game care, and on most occasions we
offer airport transfers. Our Whitetail Deer hunting success rates are in excess of 90% every year,
and our average quality varies from 130 B&C to 150 B&C, but we take many 150
plus bucks every year. Prices vary from property to property and are
normally simple flat rate charges, as opposed to complex trophy fee
schedules. Some of our whitetail properties are high fenced and some are
low fenced. Contact us for additional details.

Texas
Spring Turkey Hunting - Rio Grande
Our
spring turkey hunts have grown in popularity in recent years. WSI currently
has a tremendous land base with properties located in the heart of the
state’s best turkey regions. It is no wonder that over 75% of our turkey
business is repeat customers, as our success rates every year are near 100%
on hunters taking at least one Rio Grande gobbler, and most
hunters take two.
What is Furnished: We offer two different turkey hunting packages.
Our most common package is an all-inclusive arrangement that provides you
with guide (2x1), meals, lodging, airport shuttle (conditional), and game
care. Our standard arrangement allows you to take up to two mature gobblers,
but we do occasionally allow our hunters to set up three or even four bird
packages (inquire).
We
also offer a limited number of “unassisted” hunts where hunters essentially
do their own thing. On most of these hunts, hunters either camp out or stay
in town in a motel. This is a no frills deal, but the hunting is
great, with hunters enjoying high success.

West Texas Mule Deer
Hunting
Our
Texas mule deer hunts take place on a large private property in for West Texas.
These mule deer are considered desert mule deer, which is the subspecies Odocoileus hemoinus crooki. The crooki subspecies of mule deer is recognized
in its own category by Safari Club International and is one of the required
deer categories in completing the SCI North American Deer Slam. Mature bucks
will typically weigh approximately 200 pounds on the hoof and will generally
sport classic dichotomous forked 4 x 4 racks with average spreads ranging
from 22" to 27", but wider spreads do occasionally show up.
What is
Included?
This mule deer hunt is set up as a 4 day/5 night package and includes guide
(2x1), meals, lodging, and game care. Hunters are allowed to harvest one
mature mule deer buck and one collared peccary (javelina).
Free ranging aoudad sheep are also located on this property and may possibly
be added to your mule deer hunt on a trophy fee basis. Airport shuttle is
not provided on this hunt, and hunters who are flying should schedule their
flights into Midland, Texas and rent a car so that they can make the 2.5
hour trek to this property. This is a very limited hunt as we are only
conducting one group of hunters so any interested hunters should not delay
in inquiring on availability.

Pronghorn
Antelope Hunting
North America’s fastest land animal needs no introduction. These speed
goats are well known in the hunting circles and are a symbol of the American
West. We have been conducting pronghorn hunts since 1991 with a virtual 100%
success rate, less a couple of individuals who went home without an antelope
on their own accord. We consider this the dove hunting of big game, as this
is a relaxed, low physical hunt, where hunters
consistently see plenty of animals with little effort.
What Is
Included
Our Texas and New Mexico antelope hunts include guiding (2x1), meals,
lodging, and game care. We may be able to provide for airport shuttle but
check to make sure. Hunters stay on the property on our Texas pronghorn
hunts, while our New Mexico hunters stay in town where their meals are
provided at WSI expense. License is not included with
package and runs $300 in Texas and $201 in New Mexico.

Aoudad
Sheep Hunting
Texas is home to more aoudad sheep, or what some people refer to as
Barbary sheep, than their native North Africa. Aoudads are exceptionally
sporty animals, combining wary nature with tough physical hardiness likened
to a cape buffalo. If you are truly interested in a great, challenging and
rewarding experience, our free-range aoudad sheep hunts may be your ticket.
Location of
Hunt
We have access to two properties in Texas’ Trans Pecos. One property is in
excess of 175,000 acres located at the base of the Glass Mountains, near
Marathon. This is a very diverse property, and we also conduct hunts for
desert mule deer, pronghorn antelope, and elk here. Facilities are
exceptionally nice and are nestled on the base of a mountain with scenic
panoramas.
The second property we hunt is approximately 40,000 acres located on the
north side of the Davis Mountains near the small community of Kent. This
property has never been commercially hunted until now, and it is one of the
few free range aoudad sheep hunts in West Texas that can comfortably cater
to low mobility hunters. Facilities here are very nice as well, and hunters
stay in a house with ranch manager and wife, and they will serve as the host
for this great hunt.
What is
Furnished?
These hunts are normally set up as a 1x1 guided hunt. Hunt package includes
3.5 hunting days, 4 nights lodging, meals, as well as skinning/caping/quartering
of animal. Though airport shuttle is not included with this package, we can
likely provide shuttle for you but you need to check with us first;
otherwise, you can fly into Midland or El Paso and rent a car. We will
secure your license for you prior to the hunt and your
nonresident fee is $45.00.

Nilgai
Antelope Hunting
Texas is home to more nilgai antelope than their native country of
India. Originally stocked on the King Ranch in the 1930’s, these sporty game
animals quickly took hold and are currently free ranging on a handful of
large private properties in lower South Texas. Nilgai are indeed a very
challenging animal to hunt, and this is certainly a hunt destination you
will want to add to your schedule.
Location of
Hunt
Our nilgai hunts take place on a famous property located in lower South
Texas, approximately ten miles north of Raymondville. This family owns
several properties in this region but most of our time is spent on an
11,000-acre piece of wildlife paradise. This place is chalk full of wildlife
which provides for an incredible wildlife viewing opportunity. Nilgai
hunting here is as good as it gets, and hunters often see 25-40 bulls per
day. There is also one of the largest herds of scimitar horned orynx in
Texas which we hunt on this property as well.
The camp is a unique facility set up similarly to many African style camps
with several different individual chalets, each with its own private
bathroom and each providing heat and air conditioning.
What is
Furnished?
Our Nilgai hunts are set up as 2.5 day packages including 3 nights lodging.
You will be guided 1x1 and will be provided with three meals daily. We will
furnish you with airport shuttle to and from Harlingen, which is only a
30-minute drive. Your animals will be skinned and caped as part of the
package and you may choose to pay to have the meat commercially processed at
a nearby facility. Incidentally, nilgai meat is some of the best wild game
meat you will ever have.

Predator,
Hog & Javelina Hunting
If
you are looking for an excellent hunt to cure your off season doldrums,
we have a great option to consider. South Texas is a haven for coyotes,
bobcats, feral hogs, and javelinas, and these critters provide an
entertaining and unique hunting opportunity, especially when combined
together.
These
animals can be hunted year around, but we normally schedule these hunts in
February and March. Licenses are unlimited and guaranteed with a nominal
cost of $45, unless you’re less than 16 years of age, which is only $6.
What Is
Included?
The specific harvest allotment is generally dictated by which property you
book your hunt. Normally, each hunter is allowed to shoot coyotes, two hogs,
one javelina, and can shoot one bobcat, but there is an additional trophy
fee on bobcats, so check with us to see how much the bobcat trophy fee is
because it varies on a couple of properties. Packages include meals,
lodging, guide, game care, and airport shuttle. These are three-day hunts.
No alcoholic beverages are provided, but you can bring your own.

Exotic Big
Game Hunting
WSI conducts exotic game hunts on several properties, and we do have
access to a good variety of exotic game, especially some of the more popular
species. Some of these animals include blackbuck antelope, axis deer, fallow
deer, sika deer, red stag, mouflon sheep, red sheep, Corsican sheep, aoudad
sheep, and scimitar-horned oryx.
We occasionally have a limited supply of other harder to find species such
as Nubian ibex, eland, kudu, lechwe, sable, and a few others. If you have
something in mind, let us know and we will try to accommodate you.
Prices?
With the exception of our free-range aoudad and nilgai hunts (see other link
pages on our website), most of our exotic hunts are set up on a basis where
hunters pay a daily fee and a trophy fee. Daily fees vary, depending on what
property we hunt, but normally range from $195 to $295 per day. These daily
fees include your guide, meals, lodging, and may include airport shuttle.
Trophy fees are assessed based on what species you decide to take. Thus, you
only pay your daily fees if you do not shoot or wound an animal. Check with
us on the trophy fees.

Dove
Hunting Texas
If
you’re looking for a relaxing hunting experience, full of excitement and
fun, it’s hard to beat a good dove hunt. These little gray ghosts provide
excellent hunting opportunities to corporate groups, family excursions, or
weekend retreats for a group of buddies, looking to burn some gunpowder and
share some fellowship.
How Are
Hunts Set Up?
We normally set up our dove hunts as two-day/two-night packages with group
sizes normally varying from 8-15 hunters. We generally have a group minimum
policy, as opposed to selling individual spots. These packages include
lodging, meals, guide, and bird preparation. We occasionally offer
unassisted day hunts, but you will need to inquire on this.
